Artist's Description

Old Army Museum in Munich. In late 1944 and early 1945, the building was finally destroyed by several bomb hits partially, but the dome was largely preserved. Large parts of the collection were these attacks and subsequent looting victim (about one third of the total). The Army Museum was incorporated into the National Museum.
A recovery or a partial rebuild took place after a long and very controversial discussions only in the 1980s. In 1993 the building was completed and now houses the Bavarian State Chancellery.
